What are retargeting ads?
Retargeting ads - the come-back ad - are shown only to people who already visited your site, watched your video or tapped your profile. You already paid to find those people once, which is why these are usually the cheapest sales you will ever buy.
Why they are cheap
A stranger has to be convinced you exist, that you are any good, and that they want it today. Someone who already looked has done the first two. You are paying to answer one question instead of three.
What the come-back ad should say
Not the same ad again. Answer whatever stopped them:
- They did not know what is included - show exactly what they get
- They were not sure it is for them - show someone like them
- They meant to and forgot - remind them, plainly, and link straight to checkout
It cannot go first
A come-back ad has nobody to bring back until other ads have sent people to you. Run the ad that finds strangers and the ad that catches people searching first; switch this on once there are visitors to follow.
What you need before it works
A small piece of tracking code on your site so it knows who visited - your ad account gives you it. Without that, it can only reach people who watched a video or touched your profile.
